Music's best kept secret, Lori Lieberman has remained in the shadows of the spotlight since the early seventies, quietly gleaning the respect of an industry and a devoted base of fans. As the one responsible for such hits as "Killing Me Softly With His Song" she consistently recorded album after album for Capitol Records, RCA, EMI, Pope Music, and currently, Drive On Records.

Lori Lieberman's latest release, "Gun Metal Sky", is the definitive Lori Lieberman recording. Four years in the making, this CD reflects Lieberman's growth as a vocalist, writer, producer and arranger. Interview with Erika Wennerstrom from The Heartless Bastards

Even though the Heartless Bastards are now based in Austin, they will always be a Cincinnati band. They have come a long way from playing that first gig at The Comet here in Cincinnati to touring with The Black Keys, getting a very positive review in SPIN Magazine, and playing on David Letterman on Feb 10. Erika Wennerstrom was kind enough to speak with me about the band and about their new album "The Mountain" which was just released on Feb 3rd. They will also be having a cd release show on 3/25/09 at The Madison Theater in Covington, KY.
